HI all,
I have a problem with an application on a customer site. It is going 10 years or so but as with everything else what once started as a simple call system is now so much more. It was initially setup as a simple desktop application that used views onto 2 tables. A decade later and we have another desktop application writing to the dbf's, a web system updating it and also a new handheld application updating the dbf.
Now the fun bit, if someone is in a call on the desktop and one of the other applications updates the system in the background that change can be lost. I've tried a few tricks which have remove most of the problems but I have 1, hopefully last one. A user is on tab 1 that lists a grid of all jobs. They are in job 1234. Someone else updates job 1234 from a different applications and the original user goes into the relevant tab to check the details. There is stock code field and s/he see the change. They click on a button to get a price and the stock code reverts. It was correct and now is back as incorrect. On the first tab I have a tablerevert() command on the view and also a requery which i thought would work, but no joy.
I am trying various bits and pieces but to no avail, any pointers?
