It is fairly easy to simulate. If your string, down below, contains Visual Basic commands, such as "This is like it was" or "We did this and that", if you have unchecked "Automatic brace completion", once you will start creating a line above which starts with a quote, you might have a real mess down below.

>One suggestion that might mitigate the problem: Check 'Automatic brace completion'. That should mean that when you type an 'opening' quote then the 'closing' quote is automatically added - which should immediately prevent the editor perceiving the following code as invalid
