>Guess we have to be careful on this subject (no religion as part of discussions here). I'm kinda with you on this one - Like you I do disagree with her position and I don't think she should be put in jail either. Frankly I think someone who has such antiquated and bigoted ideals shouldn't have the job she has to begin with - so I for sure don't consider her some sort of hero - I consider her more of a jerk than anything.

All this woman is doing is inconveniencing some people who can go to the next county and be married. No one is being physically hurt and it's just a matter of time till they'll be able to be married in this county.
She's making a stand, knowing that it can't possibly succeed over time, but it's important for her to be able to do that.

This is still the land of the free and the home of the brave - you can break the law here if you're willing to pay the penalty.
MLK spent lots of time in Alabama prisons for breaking laws he thought were wrong.

It's a good idea to try to give people who passionately believe something different from what we believe a chance to have a complete say.
First, they have that right under the constitution , second they deserve that courtesy if they act peacefully, and finally... we might learn something.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
