>>>I admire Kim Davis' willingness to take the consequences for acting on her convictions.
>>>While I disagree with her position, I don't think she should have been sent to jail and I'll be looking for ways to contribute to getting her out.
>>>
>>>Contrast Kim with Jane Fonda, who went to Hanoi during wartime and complained when people called her a traitor.
>>>
>>>Heroes take the consequences.
>>>Kim is a hero.

>>Guess we have to be careful on this subject (no religion as part of discussions here). I'm kinda with you on this one - Like you I do disagree with her position and I don't think she should be put in jail either. Frankly I think someone who has such antiquated and bigoted ideals shouldn't have the job she has to begin with - so I for sure don't consider her some sort of hero - I consider her more of a jerk than anything.

>All this woman is doing is inconveniencing some people who can go to the next county and be married. No one is being physically hurt and it's just a matter of time till they'll be able to be married in this county.
>She's making a stand, knowing that it can't possibly succeed over time, but it's important for her to be able to do that.

>This is still the land of the free and the home of the brave - you can break the law here if you're willing to pay the penalty.
>MLK spent lots of time in Alabama prisons for breaking laws he thought were wrong.

>It's a good idea to try to give people who passionately believe something different from what we believe a chance to have a complete say.
>First, they have that right under the constitution , second they deserve that courtesy if they act peacefully, and finally... we might learn something.

I think this lady is more along the lines of Jim Crow vs MLK - but that's just my opinion.
