Sadly, I would not be surprised if the story turned out to be true.
About a year or two ago, there were multiple "programmer contests" on the West Coast of the U.S. that involved advertisements of bikini models. I don't remember all the details, but I was asked to sign (and agreed) a petition by a group that protested the entire thing.
There are reasons why our industry has such horribly low stats on women in technology, and that's one of them.
It's sad that adults in responsible positions don't know how to behave like responsible adults.
My daughter has been talking about being an animal doctor (of course, she's only 6). I'll save money for her to go to the necessary schools....anything to keep her out of this industry.
