>>I don't think to many (if any) companies are bothering to create NEW VFP applications (why would you??)
The ability to xcopy a handful of files onto any supported Windows machine and it will run without fail, does have value. ;-) FWIW we replaced a web app with a fat client Windows app this year because the customers needed multiple sizeable panels and browser instances don't like to communicate one with another because of the hacking risk. Customers say the fat client app runs like a scalded cat. First fat client Windows app I'd been involved with this century. We even used Metro colors and form elements that made me laugh because it reminded me of FP2.0's color schemes and blocky buttons. The more things change etc...
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
