Hi Daniel,

In the App Builder, and Windows runtime, QT is mostly under-the-hood. Likewise in mobile apps (web, phonegap). Where QT will show up in the UI is in native apps (coming out next year).

The cloudserver bin directory is 234MB. However, it is multi-tenant, so this one server can handle multiple apps and multiple customers on one app each with their own database.

We aren't distributing Windows apps. What I want to do is put the cloud server in molebox, so we can just drop it on a client site, register it (calls to the cloudserver.exe itself can be used to register it), configure it (through a web app), and be done.

Your experience gives me hope. <s>

One question I have about molebox: how are drive references handled? Say I put it in the Lianja directory off the root, and within the application I am referencing a file in drive:\lianja\library, which will be in molebox. That's the big thing I haven't grokked yet about molebox (from an hour playing with it).

thanks,

Hank

When I built the application, I was looking for a way to get in a box and molebox did the trick pretty well, embedding the ms dlls I wanted to freeze, the vfp runtime for sure and a couple of COM components that it runs without any registration. Great.

>For some reason, the COM component called as a substitute for better GETFILE/PUTFILE facility could not register properly. Do not ask me why! I cannot comment. I ended up with no substitute to it. The app does not call for it anyway. But sure, that way THE problem. Probably solved anyway at this stage. The product is mature to say the least. Worth every penny/cent in my case.

>By the way could you comment on the lianja runtime. I'b be glad to hear. I understand it may includes a full QT. What does that mean in terms of lib size and org? No disregard for it at all. I am a great fan of QT to-day, especially in view of the very plain and dull UI I still handle in VFP and believe that it's worth every byte of download. Just wondering!
