>If it were some new technology, there would be something to learn. The metro, however, is just a redesign. What happened with the "intuitive interface" mantra? We've heard it repeated a thousand times here, from M$ fans specially, were pointed to interface design guidelines so many times - and now throwing that through the window (pardon the pun (don't execute it!)) is "new technology" (aka NT :)...? Yeah, right.

>>What is the problem placing a link somewhere instead of those mappings? Nowaydays you just drag the folder in favourites and you are done.

>The same problem as with the combos and icons. Up to a 20-30 of them, it works. More of them, it becomes unusable. Yes, I've seen cases where people had 200 icons on their iconostas (that would be considered a very greedy rich church here), and they trained themselves to quickly memorize their locations (and then rememorize them again when Windows decides to reshuffle them alphabetically), but such exceptions are just exceptions.

The idea was to separate those links, files, wathever into meaningfull folders? Anyway 200 mapped drives might possibly not work.
Most folks I know simply start a search.
