As other people have mentioned, for me Camtasia has been the choice as it gives me more control over editing and rendering the video, whereas SnagIt is what I'd use for just quick videos I needed to do (for instance, for internal training for my teams). Unfortunately, I can't tell what the main differences SnagIt and Camtasia have nowadays. I'd assume you can find some sort of product matrix at the Techsmith website.
