Static what?
well it's not perfect, but at least the data are with me. (So the backup is my responsibility)
I don not pay for a static IP. I have domains registred and hosted externaly. The external recieves the mail. My servers gathers those mail every minute and distribute it via IMAP. A sub domain is bound via DynDNS, so that the router can set the IP of the sub domain. External access to the private server runs through that. Send mail goes directy through the external since nobody would accept a mail from a dynamic IP. IMAP gets a copy. Only IMAP is open to outside, but you can not use the server to send mail.
K9 can read text mail. But my default is to ignore the HTML part and show only the text part. And that I see no way to set at K9. It default to HTML.

>But then the static IP reduces your privacy again. ;-) FWIW our company email is on a PIAF box like yours, but personal mail is via gandi.

>>>The only thing that I dislike on K9 is that I can not read plain text only. HTML does not belong to an e mail.

>I had not noticed that- I think latest K-9 must read txt email.
