>I do agree - the Web will win here eventually. The API specs exist but browser vendors are dragging their feet implementing them - especially Apple which is hell bent on preventing Web apps from becoming first class citizens.

Yes. The browser, or whatever it will be called, is the inevitable remote app survivor.
App stores add no value, add cost and slow things down.
The validation, harm prevention, blah blah blah, to the extent that they add any value at all, can be handled by the browser.
We need some kind of game-changing event with the browser- of the magnitude of the launch of the first IBM PC, WWW, Linux or Windows NT to calm the Babel chatter around remote processing so that developers can get started in a rational direction again.

My only regret is that I won't be a twenty year old when that happens.
It will be the juiciest revenue opportunity since the announcement of the IBM PC.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
