The move towards mobile isn't necessarily an "either-or". And certainly moving from VFP to .NET wasn't necessarily a pure "either-or" either, though probably more by comparison.

I would challenge anyone to dispute the observation that mobile has been a nearly perpetual hedging of bets for years.
One could say the same thing about Azure a few years ago, though the space is finally starting to mature.
