>>60% on mobile apps- can you be more specific? I think these numbers might be misleading, re: your attempted point, but I'd like to know what makes up that 60% and how they surveyed to come up with those numbers.

>I think that John's numbers make sense - I'd have guessed that they were higher- but I wonder about their relevance to people who make their livings supporting business applications- at least for the time being.
>My grandsons and their buddies are glued to games on their phones several hours a day and my daughter is usually sneaking looks at videos on her tablet while she's programming.
>My car's console is a mobile app and I usually have the GPS on non-stop while driving.
>Your phone's text and camera are mobile apps... think about how often school kids use them!
>I see teenage girls using their phones' cameras as makeup mirrors.
>I know people who no longer wear watches because they get the time from their phones.
>Throw Uber, The Weather Channel, Open Table and Siri into the mix and you might also wonder too why that number isn't higher.

>Right now, that's not really meaningful to people supporting business applications but I'm beginning to suspect that when these kids come of age, they'll want everything to be mobile.

You've raised the exact point I wanted to raise...that I wondered how much of that 60% was for mobile apps that are clearly outside the line of business model.

And I use many of those - I'm chained to my iPhone, I use it often during the day - as a consumer of personal apps, social media apps, browser apps, etc.
