I spent a couple of days during the 70's working jointly on a project with Dr. Demming - one of the most pompous, boring people I've ever met.
He's a diety in Japan, and my Camry is as fault-free as it is largely because of his ideas, but he was a stiff!

When the way is clear, the smart people will follow it. They always do.
It's not clear yet- because it doesn't exist yet- but it will come.
