>>>Yeah I was alive in the 60's and 70's. At the beginning of the 1970's it was possible to own a house, a car or two, and live just fine with one working parent. In the 1980's that all changed. You were able to work a minimum wage job and still pay for college. Impossible to do that now.

>>Ok lets try to take this one step at a time - there were as not as many families where both parents worked in 1969 as there are today. Do you agree with that much?

>You also willing to acknowledge that a much higher % of kids are from broken homes compared to 1969?

Yes I'm sure that is probably right - I know the divorce rate is higher so it would stand to reason. But a single parent in 1969 could could make it on their own with one job. Not so true today.

>By the way, as someone who was basically raised (along with my younger brother) by the "stay at home mom", hopefully I don't have to remind you that taking care of kids is major work as well. :)

I grew up with a twin sister - and raising twins in a major full time job lol. But my mom didn't have to work until we were in 3rd grade. If it was today she would of had to have a job right away.
