The other girl was there before I came along and yes it shows some real commitment when everyone can get along in one household for such an extended period of time. I see more stability ..and thus a sense of security,, in our home than in many of the kid's fiends homes. I am not going to elaborate on this any further because it would take a year to explain in full - but clearly you do not know what you are talking about (in this case) , don't make assumptions when you don't know all the details.
