At the risk of fanning flames: are these "fundamental values" ethics or morals? ;-)

Lets not forget that the philosophers might insist that these are more likely to be subjective attitudes, outright errors or descriptions of emotive states rather than some sort of fundamental truth. Unless people believe in God of course, in which case morality can be declared as fundamental (or absolute or objective) rather than subjective. ;-)
