>I read a review by someone who made a great point - there really was no reason for Hayes to write this book. It's not going to appeal to anyone beyond his viewers (which is still so low that their news division is still looking for a replacement for Hayes). Very few (or zero) independents/moderates will be persuaded by Hayes.
>
>I've read rumors that some at MSNBC actually don't have any respect for Hayes. His only supporter there is Rachel Maddow.
>
>Hayes tried to deceive viewers by claiming on his show that George Wallace was a Republican, and got caught misquoting Bill O'Reilly so badly that Hayes' bosses forced him to apologize. When you're forced to apologize to O'Reilly, that's pretty bad. He's basically a sloppy version of Rachel Maddow.

>Bill - I can sum up Hayes' remedy that he puts forth in his book - he wants to soak the rich with more taxes and somehow pipe the money directly into others. (Sort of like an expanded social security). He doesn't advocate taking the increased revenue and investing in more infrastructure - he basically wants to pipe it to others.

>So Bill, I just saved you 10 bucks for not having to buy the book. :)
>
>No need to send me a fee, it was my pleasure to serve you, haha.

I agree, Kevin, but most likely for different reasons. Thanks anyway. Ten bucks is still ten bucks.
Besides, I read his book (a library copy.. I rarely buy books) a while back at Tamar's suggestion.
None of this would have meant anything to me had I remained on Long Island.. home of the Gatsby's and Hampton dwellers. As Krugman says, the northeast and the west coast are not where the anger lies.
I moved to Hamilton,NJ to be near my growing grandsons in 2006 ( a wise move.)
Hamilton, only a few miles from Princeton, is more like Akron, Ohio than like Princeton.
We have 40 and 50 year old white high school grads mowing lawns, picking up golf balls at driving ranges, pumping gas, flipping hamburgers, and bagging groceries at super markets.
These are men and women who are trying to support families on near poverty level incomes. They attend church, turn out for high school football games in droves, vote regularly and try to do what's right. But they've been left behind and they know it and they're angry.
You can't get into the parking lots of the bars here on the weekends. These people are drinking themselves senseless.
Divorce rates are off the charts.
Drug use is rampant.
I've gotten to know many of them. These are good people and they don't know what to do.
Chris Hayes and Paul Krugman ought to spend a few months in places like Hamilton, NJ, Akron, OH, or Terre Haute, IN.
Trump is the only one who understands them.
Unfortunately, he has no solutions for them, but at least he gets it.

I'm deep into Rogue Lawyer, Grisham's latest and best. It's a great read.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
