Suggests that your family has some longevity genes. You don't know how old these folks would have lived to without the smoking. Some people just seem to age more slowly than others.

Based on what I have seen, I don't think I would want to live that long. I saw my aunt about a year ago, and while she was frail, she had all of her marbles and seemed to be in good spirits. However, she declined very rapidly over the past year and, IMHO, it would have been better for everyone if she had passed away a year earlier. The same thing was true about Andy's mother. After she turned 94, she had so many health problems and was in so much pain, it would have been a blessing if she had not had to endure for another year.

My granny never smoked and she lived to be almost 100, so I think that you may be right - longevity runs in my family.
