Foxuser is also called the "Resouce file". VFP uses it to store some settings such as Windows location, editor settings, etc. Other settings are stored in the registry. You can turn it off with SET RESOURCE OFF or RESOURCE=OFF in CONFIG.FPW in a production system. You can set it to a different file with SET RESOURCE TO filename The only thing I know of that is useful in production is if you allow report modification.

>Well Al... it appears you did it again.
>I renamed the two FOXUSER* files to something else, and so far... no more blanking out of the forms.

>I don't know the significance of these FOXUSER files, but so far running the app hasn't recreated the FOXUSER files.
>I've checked some of my other apps, and I notice that some of them have the two FOXUSER files and some don't.

>So, do we actually need those files?

>Thanks Al for your continued help...and thanks to Jos and MIchael for your interest.
