LOL!!!! Obviously. I thought that she meant that you could buy homes during the time period from 1975 - 1995 for $1000. ROFL!!!

FWIW, in 1961, my parents bought a 3-story, 5-bedroom house on a third of an acre (empty side lot and land went back to the street behind) in Philly (in a neighborhood on the outer edge of the city) for $23,000.

In 1961, my parents brought a 2 story 3 bedroom house on a city lot in South Euclid, Ohio (a suburb south of Cleveland) for $21,000. The next house that they bought in 1967 cost them $80,000 and it was not much bigger than the house that they sold.
