>>>>>>>>Having said that, he's benefitting from an immunotherapy drug, Keytruda, which was developed in Israel... Carter is a strong anti-Israel activist - he supports boycotts, divestments, and sanctions against Israel and has even called Israel an apartheid-like state. So he is essentially lobbying aggressively against the very country whose medical technology is improving his life.

Originally it was invented by 3 boffins at Organon in Walter's homeland of the Netherlands, then Organon was bought by Shering-Plough in California, then the drug was humanized by Merck, and then Schering-Plough was bought by (merged into) Merck with headquarters in New Jersey. There were clinical trials done in Israel, but in other places too.

>The most disturbing part is that quite a lot of people actually believe everything they hear or read. And is something false is written with war type letters on the front page of a newspaper, the denial comes in small print on page umptythree between the classified ads two weeks later.

I think most people are already bent towards a certain view point first (as children/young adults) and then believe everything they read that supports that already established viewpoint. Everything counter to the pre-existing bias is dismissed. Even the most bizarre claims are believed provided they support the bias.
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends - Martin Luther King, Jr.
