And he never got it back either. There is no presumption of innocence under civil asset forfeiture laws. When government agencies are given a profit motive to seize private property, abuses are inevitable. Civil forfeiture is no different.

It's a juicy story, but I suspect that there's more to it.
Notwithstanding everything you hear to the contrary this is still the land of the free and the home of the brave.
If there are no other facts, any ambulance chaser I've ever met (I have lots of them as friends and I'd be happy to supply some names, depending on the state) would be happy to take this case on a contingency basis and would have the money back with a few phone calls ..If there are no other facts.

It would be good if you could spend some time with my daughter in law, Susan.
She leads the fights against every zoning application here in Hamilton that would encroach on the rights of individual citizens or the environment.
And she wins most of them.
She represented the mother of Supreme Court justice Sam Alito in her case against a company who wanted to expand into her residential area, and prevailed.
The justice sent a check to help with attorney fees.
That's the only anti-establishment thing Justice Sam has ever done in his life.
But Susan gets it done, Sam or no Sam.

We actually elected a man named Barack Hussein Obama as our president twice. That's huge.

I think that the Donald is the best thing that's happened to that party since Lincoln.
I just wish we had someone like him in our party. I like Bernie, but he's been in Washington too long and has lost touch.
