I see your point - but based on what I read at the time I do not think she was really all that naive and was simply infatuated with him - which becomes somewhat obvious when you watch old news clips were both of them are in it.

You can't know what someone else thinks - and that is not what I think nor what I've said. What I've been saying all along is that is what the republican part has become (or is becoming).., mostly because the party has been hijacked by folks like Trump - who do fall into this category - and you notice his poll numbers are rather high so it's not like you can claim he's not appealing to the GOP base. There have been republican's I've liked in the past - and some that I've voted for too.
