You are right.

Black on white is number one contrast, blue link color indicate stuff for us red /green color blinds.

But a link / action area should be visible marked and reachable via keyboard.

Also I would like to keep Save buttons. Much better then the non-abortable interface King County comes lately up with.

But you are wrong too. Even Win 95 was black on white for anything except dialog forms. The page you mention is no dialog...
