It's in general the same (but no DELL). Acts the same way. After reinstall it was fine .... Something was to much. It's windows. reinstall every half year. since 3.1 true.

>I am running on a Dell XPS 16 gig Ram 2 Terabyte HD with an iCore7 processor. So it should not be slow but under Windows 8.1 it would take 3 minutes to boot up and Dell never was able to find the problem. I upgraded to Windows 10 and the it boots in about 10 secs but the saving of visual classes is as unpredictable as it was under Windows 8.1. I did notice that Windows Defender interfered with another development environment such that open forms could take 60 seconds when it was running and when not running the forms appeared instantly. So I guess it is quite possible there is some Windows setting that has gone awry.

>>>Hi
>>>
>>>I am using VFP 9 with Windows 10 Pro and some days when I use the Class Designer and save a class it saves instantly but on other days the class is saved very slowly and you have to wait for 10-15 seconds or longer. I have excluded the vcx, vct, prg, dbf, cdx, pjx, pjt, fxp, fpt from Windows Defender but it seems to make no difference. Has one else experienced this issue if so were you able to solve it?
>>>
>>>I also notice that Windows 10 seems to ignore my power saving settings as it continually shuts down my network card when the computer is idle and I have to wait for the network to come back up before I can use the Internet even though I have asked it not to power down the network card.

>>Hi Simon,
>>
>>sounds familiar. I had something the like a while ago - VFP on Win8.1 slows down on several days for no reason (O.k: it was the otherway. on some days it acted normal ...). Overall slowdown. Compilation time from 30s up to 300s, loading etc.
>>
>>I've never found a reason on that. I OS reinstal from scratch solved it finally. My guess is Defender gone wild, strange MS fix or some maleware ....
