I don't really know can Vc++ 4.0 can run on Win3.1.In VC++ 4.0's Help and Tutorials told me that it can only run on Win95/WinNT because 4.0 is a ture 32 bit program.
You can use ODBC driver to access other type of DBF file.The new version of VFP is providing ODBC 2.5.
