>>>>> I don't understand how anyone can think it's a wise move to have a president,..of a country like the USA.., with zero political experience. All these things add up to a recipe for disaster if you ask me.
>>>
>>>Lately I've been reading an excellent book about the relationship between George Washington and Alexander Hamilton.
>>>
>>>By definition, Washington had little or no political experience. There was nothing there. He had to make a government before he could run it. He had to do it in the face of constant, hateful sniping from people like Jefferson, Madison and Monroe.
>>>The more I read, the more I'm convinced that he was a political genius.
>>>Those people are born, not made.
>>>Experience means little or nothing, as he demonstrates dramatically.

>I'm not comparing Washington and Trump.
>My point is that experience or lack of it, is really irrelevant here.
>Trump is where he is in the polls because he most vividly articulates the dominate views of his a large section of his party.
>Many times I've been tempted to record the conversations in the local coffee shop here in Hamilton, a gathering place for 50+ white men.. all repubs.
>To a man these are racist, mysognist, bible-thumping, zeno-phobic, science-denying bigots and they love Trump.
>Hate spews out of them non-stop.
>They also love Cruz.
>
>The real fear should be not that Trump won't be able to run the government, but that he will.

>>Yes those are all good points - but you can't compare George Washington - who may not of been a politician, but he was a leader of an army, to Trump. Plus he wasn't trying to run a 200 year old country in 2016 - he was trying to start a country in the 1700's. Considering the USA didn't even exist yet, there was no political experience to be had to begin with ...at least none in this type of government. George is known as 'The Humble Statesman' - a far cry from Trump and his ego...heck just read any of his press releases and you'll see what I mean. They usually start out with something along the lines of "As a super rich guy and the author of a best seller book I....(insert garbage here). ". I will admit they both have/had adversaries - but that's pretty much where I see the similarities end - other than they both had/ave a lot of money.

"racist, mysognist, bible-thumping, zeno-phobic, science-denying bigots" plenty of those over here as well.

Recently I heard a well known speaker (not well enough for me to remember the name) over here who had been booked to do some talks on a cruise ship. One theme was about the problems facing the young today and she was shocked when to a man/woman the cruisers where completely unsympathetic.
