>>Except that dBase IV was "eventually" improved. ACA is horribly architected 1.0 software that this administration has little interest in fixing - partly because its own architecture makes it so difficult.

You could say the same of Democracy. Actually, somebody once did:

No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…

The main difference is that some people claim that the ACA has to be perfect and all-wise or it's a failure. In real life, perfect is the enemy of good.

You show me anywhere in the world where your old healthcare system succeeded. You can't, not even in the US where it got you demoted to bottom of the healthcare ratings in the first world. The ACA already is lifting the US out of those doldrums, as you'll see before long, but there's a long way to go with certain interests rowing furiously backwards and people fearful of change clamoring to return to the burning shore.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
