I will have to learn more about working out of USA in general I guess. For example, if yo make less than $106,000 overseas, you don't have to pay USA income tax on that... So what happens if you make $106,001 ?? Do you pay taxes on the $1 or the whole thing??? And I read conflicting stories about opening bank accounts in Thailand and other parts of Asia - some require you to have work-visa's, others don't - or sometimes don't.. If you didn't have an account at a local bank, then you're going to get hit with huge fees every time you use an ATM or try to get some local money.>
>All very good questions. When I was living and working in England, I had a work permit - I was an American working for an English company. It was easy enough to get an English bank account - all I had to do was to show them my work permit and prove that I had a job, but when it came to getting a credit card - well, if Andy hadn't vouched for me, it would have been difficult.

>Regarding the taxes - Although I am not an accountant, I would suspect that if you make $106,001, you only pay taxes on the $1.
That's correct, only on the $1
