Let me say it the other way around.

Apple is nothing then marketing for decades. Highway robbery you may include. One would not expect anything else. Apple depends on the hype and I'm not realy interested in deeper details of overseas marketing.

The MVP program need some carfull study to see for what MS gives the title. And this is not for technical professionalism. It's for influence on comunity. For me it reads MS fanboy. Evangelist.
IOW it says if it comes to political talks like this - the company voice.

If I get nothing then marketing bubbles and outright lies out of MS - where is the difference, then? If Apple hands out fancy frames with outdated hardware and doubtfull software - there is nothing new. It's all about to have white earplugs. The do not sell technic devices. They sell live style. So you should not compare to bread and butter tools we need for work. If some idiots on MS dream to be Apple they will fail. No style. Why do we have Windows where it is? Because it was without Steve Jobs to have a say about anything. Because it was open. A system like WIN 10 that changes like the weather, can stop and change any system API name it an any given time, keylogs, spies on your data and can only be set to minimum spying (So why no simple "OFF" big fat on first page? ) can be used by the owners of MS themself. MS securitysettings feel like hangeling through facebook security - a million places scatterd around, and every morning recheck nothing is reset by the system (MS on update) or introduced in new granularity - default on data gathering allowed. Talk about that instead of Apple. At least you are no professional there? :)

In some sense you can read it as a adoration to MS. We are not used to such behaviour by MS and feel annoyed. Because if MS acts this way further on, we can simple switch to google. Same service but lower costs. Google is pying in me anyway and unavoidable, I do not need MS doing it too.

BTW something I've heard those day on a chat. Windows phone ? This is no smartphone - no WhatsUp. Somehow I feel me Android is no smartphone too - by this definiton ...
