And I know what you mean too :). I have been learning Spanish 30 years and currently talk to a couple of Spaniards over Skype, as the language exchange. And I still ask one of them (a woman from Andalusia) to slow down or I will start speaking English (her English is pretty bad) :).
That sounds like a marvelous idea. I used to be fluent about 45 years ago - I studied the language for 6 years. But since I seldom use it anymore, I need to get out my old Spanish books and read a chapter a night to refresh my memory before we travel to Spain :)
When we were building the new house here, a lot of the workers were immigrants from Mexico, so I got to practice with them for awhile ;)
