SET NOTIFY OFF only turns off certain messages, SET STATUS OFF determines wether foxpro needs to display the character based statusbar. Writing code in the gotfocus and lostfocus event doesn't work either, because I run code when they use my ActiveX treeview and that code makes the messages appear, I think it is anoying to write something like that in your code, there has got to be an easier way.
