Good one.

Mine was almost as serendipitous. I thought I was going for a job in TV (programming)
They gave me an aptitude test (that was before EEOC) and I did well so they hired me conditioned on my ability to complete an 8 week class on programming the IBM 705III given by IBM.
Half of the class flunked out after 4 weeks and the other survivors and I went on to careers as developers.
We spent the first week or so flow charting.
I loved it. After a few days, I whispered to the IBM'er who was running the class "This is fun, but when does the WORK start? He said "This IS the WORK."
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
