There are individuals who will disagree with Obama, no matter what. I certainly don't agree with McConnell when he says that the country should wait on a nomination until after the November election. McConnell has been a knee-jerk politician for years and I think he's a lousy leader.

There are also individuals who think that all criticism of Obama is rooted in race - that people disagree with Obama simply because they don't like him.

I don't care for either camp.

I have praised Obama when I thought he deserved merit. I gave him credit for green-lighting the capture of bin Laden, I credit him for being an involved father for his daughters, I credit him for his involvement in repealing "don't ask, don't tell", and I credit him for the one lone achievement that Hillary truly can be praised for (better relations in the Asian Pacific region). His administration has also been involved in improving food safety programs, and Michelle Obama does deserve some credit for that.

Those are accomplishments directly attributable to him. There have been positive things that would have occurred with or without him, so I don't give him direct credit. (Nor do I blame him for all of the problems of the economy, because of factors beyond his control). But I certainly hold him accountable for the horrible impact of ACA, I blame him for his actions in further de-stabilizing the Middle East and for a pathetic agreement with Iran. Most of all, I blame him for conducting himself too many times like a petulant child. When I hear him complain about the antics of the R party, my first reaction is that he gives as good as he gets. The truth is that a more mature version of Obama would have mitigated the rise of Trump.
