I generally (no pun) agree with the notion that the military- especially the brass- liked W more than O.
Why?
Hard to divine someone else's motives - but I'll hazard some guesses.
First is money. Bush spent hundreds of billions more on the military than O has.
If you ask a general if he needs more money- or more of anything for that matter- and he says "No", he didn't hear the question, so I assume that's a big reason.

Another reason, based on some conversations I've had with some active duty guys, is all this gender stuff.
Who in his right mind would want serve in combat with women?
It's nuts.
The gay stuff is almost as bad.
The generals who have said anything about it have wound up in hot water.

So that's my take.

Who was a better commander-in-chief in my mind?
That's easy, Obama was.
Any commander who leads his troops into the kind of wars that Bush did is an abysmal failure, period.
