>>>>I like Bernie better than anyone else right now too. Not so sure I would want Trump if Bernie was out though. While Trump might be more 'manageable', he still has a mouth on him and says too much stupid and insulting things. My concern is that our international relations would suffer badly because this.

>Some historical perspective. Around the 1980 election and even in the early 1980's, a common theme from the left was that Ronald Reagan would do the same thing. I remember liberal students in fall of 1984 who went on crying fits in the middle of classes, talking about how scared they were that Reagan would push the button and end the world. As it turned out, Reagan was far more bark than bite. Trump will be the same.

>Though I'll say this - his talk of a response to China's devaluation of currency is making them nervous. While I don't want to see another Hawley-Smoot, I'm at least glad Trump (for all his faults) is pushing this point. The economic policies of the govt of China are an affront to fair international trade, and quite candidly I don't see too many willing to credit Trump for raising this issue.

>So there's a cautionary tale there - just not the one you think. :)

Seriously, there is absolutely no comparison between Trump and Reagan.

>And on Obama - take a look at the mess the administration created in Libya and Syria. This administration is far more to blame for the rise of ISIS.

LOL, Libya has been no greater mess than it was for four decades. As for syria, I do not see how you could blame Obama on that. If you had to blame anyone, ou'll have to blame GWB for starting the war and the american opinion for leaving Iraq in such state. But above all, a dictator that has lost control over his country and refuses to step aside.
