>>Well ...we partly disagree on t hat. I think it should be legal in the whole country. When you have it like it is now, where it's illegal in some places, partly legal in others, and yet completely legal in some, then you end up with stupid crap like this story happening to people. The reason for the resistance is money. Law was passed to make same sex marriage legal - but no one is going to loose billions and billions of dollars because same sex marriage is legal. But if you make pot legal, then the billions and billions of dollars that go to the DEA, lawyers, police, prisons (which have a very disturbing growing trend of being privately owned) will end. Kansas is just plain wrong on what they've done here.

>Take the Oregon bakery owners who were fined about 135K and had their First Amendment rights violated by an (arguably) unconstitutional "prior restraint" gag order. Or take the innocent pizza shop in Indiana that had their business turned upside down for a period of time (i.e. loss of profits) by left-wing zealots, simply because of an innocent statement they made to an idiot reporter.

I agree these things are bad - there will always be haters and idiots out there.

>Note: I have no problem with SSM. I've been fine with SSM my entire life. Unlike Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, I didn't come to that conclusion via political expediency, but rather from my core values. But that doesn't mean SSM should be a form of retribution against those with different belief systems.

I think you're right - it shouldn't - but it should protect SSM people from being discriminated against - and if it happens there should be a price to pay. I suspect (although I have no evidence to show) that many of the people against SSM are the same ones against legal weed because of the moral implications - but when you toss in a few trillion dollars into the mix it's a whole new ballgame. Take for example all the private prisons we have - even on the NYSE now. As far as they're concerned they want as many things illegal as possible, and the punishments as long as possible. That is their business model after all..right?
