It certainly has to do some soul-searching, doesn't it?


It was a stretch to think that the party of Lincoln, Robert Taft and Eisenhower could share a roof with the likes of Strom Thurmond and Pat Robertson but to modern politicos getting elected justifies just about anything and here we are.

As i see it, Ted Cruz has mobilized the bible thumpers but most of the racists, angry white men and rifle lovers have fallen into step with Trump.

The remaining "traditional" repubs like Mitt and the Bushes don't seem to know what has hit them yet.

Lincoln said it well:

"A house divided against itself cannot stand.... I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other."

I suspect that a lot of repubs are wondering what that one thing will be.
