... and hospitals. If a hospital has Olympus gear, generally the working docs will shrug and use it. Often there's a small handful of influencers and those were the ones targeted.

Unless you were having an endoscopy, I doubt your doctor was bribed to use Olympus gear on you.
The point is that this is a scandal. If it were as commonplace as people like to claim, it'd be consigned to page 10 rather than front page news.
