We have a situation where the database file (mdf) cannot be fully read. When i detach the database and try to make a copy of it i get input output error after appox. 69% of the copying.
The setup:: SQL server database file size is 115Gb., model - simple. Mission critical database. The latest backup cannot be read ether (input output error). Probable cause - unexpected succession of ugly power cuts..
The database is seemingly operational. Users still use it, no errors have been reported so far.
I am going for tonight to detach the database and copy mdf and log files ignoring read errors to another server with the same configuration. There i will attach it and restore it with DBCC.
