>I know it will sound nuts, but it is just the way of it. The program I am adding to has jobs and techs that go out and do them. All the job info is added/edited/stored in vfp. The daily schedule sheets for the techs is then drawn up in a spreadsheet and printed. As things change in the day, they are changed in vfp, and the spreadsheet.

What I want to know is, is there a way to include a spreadsheet in a form, and if the data in the spreadsheet is changed, to get it to be changed in the vfp table at the same time. The only term I can think of would be 'mapping' the data from the table to the spreadsheet, and back again... In this instance, the spreadsheet is a logical way, and a practical way to 'create' the schedule, and using a vfp grid would not replace that practicality, and this is the reason for my question. Yes - I can make a report that will mimic the spreadsheet layout for printing the schedules, but a report is 'output', and not 'input'.

John,

Best bet is a grid with a cursor as recordcource. You have to update your table(s) with the cursor on leaving the form.
The way the different grid cells = cursor.fields act on changement of an other field(s) is up to you. You can use table triggers for this.
