>Small office, Win+Mac clients plus Linux backend sounds like either too many cooks or too much money ;-)

I work in a mixed environment daily. I find that Linux is the least troublesome. Windows is always presenting some issue - either because of email or web surfing. Mac's seem to ride along without issue for longer periods but when something goes wrong it's hard to fix. I had a client that asked to test Linux as a replacement for one of their computers. I set it up early last year and haven't touched it since. The customer took the worse windows computer user (in terms of requiring maintenance) and replaced his computer with a Linux (openSUSE 13.2) OS. It was a fight with the user but they did get used to the Linux box. Now we don't have trouble with the computer.

Linux does everything the average user needs (including my cross platform apps) just with different programs. Instead of Word, Excel it's LibreOffice, Outlook it's Thunderbird. We will soon be moving to google so the office will be completely on the same office type programs.
