>I am trying to install SQL 2012 clustered services (first install of SQL on this MS Server 2012R2 cluster). The AD objects have already been created (Nodes, Cluster Alias, and SQL network name). This is a requirement of the network I work in. I do not have ability to create domain objects. I have successfully installed several other similar clusters on this network, both SQL 2012 and SQL 2014. In this case, however, I get an error:

>sql server failover cluster instance name already exists clustered resource

I don't guess anyone has an answer to this so far. Just an update. I looked up the SQL alias in AD, and it was in an 'enabled' state. I changed it to 'disabled', thinking that the install process needed to be able to enable the object. I waited overnight to make sure the changes were propagated. Still, no joy.

I have also put this question on social.msdn.microsoft. If anyone has any helpful thoughts, please share.
Thank You

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
