>>1. Create a new message. My default forum is Visual FoxPro. If I change the Forum to "Universal Thread", it takes a few seconds for the Category dropdown to update. If during that time I click on the Category dropdown, I still get the categories for VFP, even when the Forum has updated to Universal Thread. I can't get the Category dropdown to work as expected unless I manually switch to some other Forum, let the Categories update, then switch back to UT, and let the Categories update again.

Or, it could have been related to something along the internet connectivity. In normal situations, the round trip to update the categories is instant.

I wrote a message about this because it has happened to me more than once; I don't know how often you are updating/recompiling. I wasn't trying to be quick about selecting Category after switching Forum to UT.

As for "instant" performance, I haven't been seeing that for your site in some time. Many years ago when it was VFP-based, performance was often instant, so fast I would get the result before my finger was off the mouse button or Enter key. ISTR even posting messages praising that.

It's never been that fast while based on .Net/SQL Server although I must admit the site is more complex and feature-rich than it used to be. It's hard to say for sure but it seems to me overall performance dropped again since the significant overhaul you did a little while ago

OK, are you saying that operations in separate browser tabs are not isolated? That's good to know, although I work in separate tabs almost all the time and would prefer if operations were isolated at the tab level.
