Hi,

I have been testing a bunch of products to do such things, IMHO quickpdf is T-H-E solution that offers the tightest control on the process. I was able to control a wide array of pdf transformation, including complex form-feeding with both text and image information forwarded as png. That included very dynamic scenarii, such as building a pdf output from scratch or creating pdf as a complex "addition" of partial pdf content.

All that implies some work though as:
1) the pdf format is an old and somewhat cryptic format and ultimately an mess,
2) the quickpdf library is far-reaching - you can go very far (much more than what Adobe would like you to perform by the way)

But in the end. Quickpdf was (and is) a brilliant product. It is fully supported and is in the process of becoming a multi-platform. If you can afford the cost (a one-off though), a great resource indeed that I have used over more than 10 years and a couple of arbitrary pdf format extensions by Adobe.

Daniel
