>I have recently bought a new laptop running windows 10. I am a church minster and many years ago I bought a database package that used FoxPro 2.6. on 5 floppy discs. (This was before Visual FoxPro). As I have updated through windows I have been delighted that I could quite literally copy and paste the program folder onto my new desktop even in Windows 7. When I tried this in Windows 10 I got the error message telling me that the program wouldn't run on this computer even when I tried compatibility mode. Does anyone know of any way I could get this database to run on my laptop - I have never found a database as useful for my needs as this one and will be sorry to lose it. Although I am comfortable using a computer I am not an expert and need replies in simple language please and thank you for reading my request.
I suspect you are using Windows 10 64 bit and it will not run in that if you are, The FoxPro 2.6 you are using is a 16 bit system.
You have a couple choices - use Windows 10 32 bit and a 16 bit program will run in it, or run it within a VM like VmPlayer. In a VM like VmPlayer you can then install an 32 bit version of Windows and run it within that.
