Right. And getting them to vote to end the gravy train (which is a big part of the problem) isn't any more likely. Kind of puts us in a bad situation because I don't see a path to fix the problem other than maybe the judicial branch do something about it.
That would be a slippery slope. It is not the job of the judicial branch to legislate.
