Yes, 100% works fine. You create a secure file on your hard disk with some name. Then when you unlock this file using Bestcrypt it appears as a drive. You can then add files and folders to this "drive". And then when you lock the drive it again appears just as a file. The file is an encrypted container. Very good solution for storing stuff in - I use it for documents, source code + projects, private files, etc. If the laptop gets stolen then the user needs the keys/password to access the encrypted file/container. It is very secure using modern encryption algos. and continuously updated.

In addition, you might be able to ask Jetico about custom solutions to your problem.

Lastly, depending on what you are storing on the encrypted container there might be better solutions. Maybe explain what you are trying to achieve?
