The problem is, this is not a table this is a cursor that gets refreshed over and over. The user may alter the field / create new records, this requires extra action on tableupdate. So the idea is to simply use something as index expression.
Since the cursor is only valid within a defined environment, I can use a function, because it's existing by definition (what could be a problem on tables). If you follow the thread to message#
1633348 you see the current solution. The field you see there is only for testing / documentation purposes, the index runs on the function itself.
